Hi!
I'm Nina Oak.
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, and creativity has always been a part of my life. I always wanted to be an artist, but there were no art courses in my city. So, I studied Fashion Design at the Federal University of Ceará and did postgraduate studies in Art Teaching Methodology at the State University of Ceará. I taught Drawing for several years in the Fashion Design course at the Federal University of Ceará.
I worked for a few years in the clothing industry, but my growing dissatisfaction with the negative impact of fast fashion on the environment led me to pursue other professional paths. When my daughter was born, I created a children's clothing studio with a "slow fashion" approach, which sparked my interest in children's illustration. Then, I decided to dedicate myself more and more to developing my own style and my own exclusive characters and prints.
My illustrations reflect my love for nature and art. I am passionate about classical ballet. As a child, I studied ballet, but I couldn't continue dancing because I had scoliosis and underwent thoracic spine fusion surgery. Years later I started dancing again, initially to set an example for my daughter to return to ballet classes, as she had become discouraged after experiencing negative things in dance. I managed to get my daughter back into dancing and after that, I found myself so involved in ballet again that I don't want to stop. So I started incorporating my love for dance into my illustrations, and my daughter Julia is my greatest inspiration.
